2009 Bike to Work Day

Thank You for Making the 2009 Bike to Work Day a Success! The 2009 Bike to Work Day was a great success thanks to the thousands of cyclists across the Denver area that snapped on their helmets for a fun and healthy commute to the office.

The South I-25 Urban Corridor Transportation Management Association’s (TMA) breakfast station at the Vallagio received over 40 cyclists who stopped by on their way to work to refuel on muffins from My Favorite Muffin and to receive free bike aid from Alpha Bicycle. Individuals visiting the breakfast station also enjoyed the musical company of Jazz KUVO 89.3. This year’s event was a testament to the growing popularity of alternative commuting options. The number of event participants increases year after year as more people become aware of the benefits of cycling.

The TMA is heavily involved in efforts and initiatives to increase awareness of alternate commute options. It is the TMA’s goal to enhance the image of the Southeast Corridor by decreasing pollution and congestion within the Corridor, while promoting healthy lifestyles for residents. Other transit programs established by the TMA include the Transportation Proposal Contest and the Commitment to Transit Award.

The South I-25 Urban Corridor Transportation Management Association (TMA) is a coalition of local governments; Arapahoe County, Douglas County, City of Greenwood Village, City of Centennial, City of Denver, City of Lone Tree; the Southeast Public Improvement Metropolitan District (SPIMD) and the business community represented by the Southeast Business Partnership (SEBP) who joined together to help solve the corridor's congestion problems and to promote economic development in the area.

Thank you to those who contribute daily to the decrease of congestion and the enhancement of air quality!
