Carpool/Vanpool
Want to save money, time and wear and tear on your car? Carpooling is a great way to do all that and more. Interested in carpooling, but don't know who you would carpool with? RideArrangers' free online carpool database provides you a list of other interested commuters who live and work close to you.

Already have a group of commuters, but need a vehicle big enough for all of you? Vanpools are a good choice for groups of commuters who live and work near each other and travel more than 15 miles to work one-way. Passengers share the ride and pay a low monthly fare to the designated driver in a minivan seating up to six, or a full-size van seating up to 12. The Vanpool program is a partnership between DRCOG and the Regional Transportation District (RTD).

TeleWork
Telework brings work to employees through technology rather than bringing employees to work by traveling. Teleworkers are employees who work at home one or more days each week instead of commuting to the office. Teleworking allows employers to increase productivity, improve employee recruitment and retention, improve employee moral, reduce overhead costs and decrease demand for office and parking space. Teleworking enables employees to decrease their parking and commuting expenses, better their balance of work and personal lives and lessen commuting stress.

Flexible Work Hours
How do you avoid the hassle and frustration of heavy rush hour traffic? Going into work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., can shorten commute time by avoiding the heaviest rush hour traffic periods. Talk to your employer or employees about implementing flexible work hours as a way to help reduce stress and boost productivity.
